This composition was a collaborative process that took place between Walter and I. We were commissioned by CADME (Calgary Association for the Development of Music Education) to create "Mother Earth - Spring" as a cross-cultural project to bring together an indigenous and non-indigenous composer to undertake a collaborative project that contributes to the reconciliation process. The inspiration behind the themes and stories was provided by Walter, which I then transcribed and arranged into this concert band work.
